Built for trusted microbial monitoring in the field
MICBUSTERS BV helps industrial teams detect, quantify and interpret selected microbial targets close to the sampling point. We combine field-ready qPCR, practical sampling support, training and corrosion-aware interpretation for organisations that need faster and more focused MIC monitoring.
Our work is centred on one practical goal: making molecular microbiology useful for real industrial decisions, without turning every site into a conventional molecular laboratory.
A complete workflow from sample to decision-ready microbial information
Industrial qPCR is only valuable when the full chain is controlled: the sample, the extraction, the assay, the run controls, the reporting unit and the interpretation.
MICBUSTERS therefore supplies and supports a practical workflow, not just a piece of laboratory hardware. This helps teams apply molecular microbiology to questions such as MIC risk, souring, biofouling, treatment verification, pigging campaigns and surface-associated microbial monitoring.
Sampling support
Support for water, filters, deposits, corrosion products, pig debris, swabs and biofilm-related material.
Extraction and qPCR
DNA extraction, preservation and ready-to-use qPCR assays for selected bacteria, Archaea and microbial functions.
Interpretation
Results are interpreted with the asset, matrix, location, treatment history and corrosion question in mind.
Why supply chain control and data control matter
MIC monitoring is often performed in critical infrastructure, offshore environments, energy systems, pipelines and industrial facilities where delays, data restrictions and access limitations matter.
MICBUSTERS is designed around practical industrial use: controlled reagent supply, European hardware production, no cloud dependency and fast availability of consumables from stock.
Controlled reagent supply
All of our reagents are manufactured in the Netherlands (EU). This supports quality control, continuity and short communication lines when workflows need to be adapted or scaled.
European thermocycler production
Our thermocycler is produced in the European Union. For industrial buyers, this helps reduce dependency on long and vulnerable supply chains.
No cloud dependency
The MICBUSTERS workflow can be operated without relying on cloud systems. This is useful for remote assets, confidential datasets and organisations with strict IT or cybersecurity requirements.
Fast reagent availability
Reagents are supplied from stock and can in principle be shipped within one working day, depending on order timing, logistics and destination requirements.
Practical field use
The workflow is designed for industrial monitoring situations where sample context, transport time, site access and operational deadlines influence the value of the result.
Decision-focused interpretation
A microbial number is only useful when it supports a decision. MICBUSTERS helps connect qPCR data to trends, treatments, deposits, corrosion evidence and the operating context.
Active in the technical community behind better MIC monitoring
MICBUSTERS is involved in industry discussions, training and standardisation work because better microbial monitoring depends on more than a faster test.
Reliable MIC work requires representative sampling, correct sample handling, appropriate targets, proper controls and interpretation alongside corrosion, chemistry and operational evidence. That is why we contribute to events, training initiatives and standards discussions in the MIC and corrosion community.
Our position
MICBUSTERS does not present qPCR as a stand-alone proof of MIC. We see targeted qPCR as a fast and powerful line of evidence when it is used in a controlled workflow and interpreted together with the industrial context.

We help teams implement the workflow, not just purchase the kit
Many industrial teams want faster microbial information, but they also need confidence that sampling, handling, controls and interpretation are done correctly.
MICBUSTERS supports implementation with practical training and technical guidance. This includes sample planning, sample handling, qPCR workflow execution, target selection and interpretation of results in relation to corrosion, chemistry and operating conditions.
- Starting point: defining the asset, monitoring question and sample types.
- Sampling: selecting water, deposit, pig debris, corrosion product, swab or biofilm-related material.
- Workflow execution: preparing samples, running qPCR and using controls correctly.
- Interpretation: connecting microbial signals to trends, treatment events and corrosion evidence.
Frequently asked questions about MICBUSTERS
What is MICBUSTERS?
MICBUSTERS BV is a Dutch specialist in field-ready qPCR workflows for microbiologically influenced corrosion, industrial microbiology and asset integrity monitoring. The company is founded by two Dutch specialists on Molecular technologies. They both have a long standing involvement in Molecular technologies and solving industrial microbial issues.
Where are MICBUSTERS reagents manufactured?
All of our reagents are manufactured in the Netherlands (EU).
Can I try or rent the equipment?
Yes. Most of our customers start with a trial period. This period can help to validate the method and get the operators experienced with our worklow. It typically takes a few months to train a team of operators and ensure that they have confidence in the data they are generating.
Where is the thermocycler produced?
Our thermocycler is produced in the European Union.
Does the workflow depend on cloud systems?
No. The MICBUSTERS workflow can be operated without relying on cloud systems, which can be important for remote assets, confidential datasets and industrial IT requirements.
Do you provide training?
Yes. MICBUSTERS supports customers with training and practical implementation guidance, including sampling, sample handling, qPCR workflow execution, controls, target selection and interpretation. Training is a crucial part within the implementation process of implementing qPCR as a routine monitoring system.
Can reagents be shipped quickly?
Reagents are supplied from stock and can in principle be shipped within one working day, depending on order timing, logistics and destination requirements.
Does qPCR alone prove MIC?
No. Targeted qPCR is a powerful line of microbial evidence, but a MIC conclusion also requires corrosion evidence, sample location, chemistry, deposits, operating conditions and a plausible mechanism.
Want to know whether MICBUSTERS fits your asset, sample type or monitoring programme?
Tell us whether you work with produced water, injection water, deposits, pig debris, corrosion products, sludge, biofilm or surface swabs. We will focus the discussion on your actual monitoring decision and the workflow that fits it.
